The Association of Spanish Scientists in the Baltic Countries (ACEBaltic) is pleased to announce the First Edition of the “Antonia Ferrín Moreiras” Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Astronomy and Astrophysics in the Baltic Countries. This award honors the legacy of Prof. Dr. Antonia Ferrín Moreiras, a pioneer of Astronomy as the first Spanish woman to be awarded a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics. The prize aims to recognize outstanding doctoral research in the field. The call is open to PhD theses defended between the 1st of January 2020 and the 31st of December 2025 universities in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Applications will be accepted from 11th February to 30th March 2026. The award includes a monetary prize of €1,500, as well as a medal and/or diploma, and will be presented at the Award Ceremony in Vilnius on the 21st of May 2026.
