SUMMARY:Performance\, for the first time in Spanish\, of the play “Werewolf”
DESCRIPTION:Performance\, for the first time in Spanish\, of the play “Werewolf” by the Estonian writer August Kitzberg by the theatre group SAPERE AUDE on 22 May 2023 at the Karlova Theatre in Tartu (Estonia). \nSAPERE AUDE is a heterogeneous group in age and nationality that includes Spanish speakers who love theatre and culture and students of Spanish\, offering a space in which to learn the Spanish language in a more creative way\, away from the restrictions of the classroom. The group premiered its first play in May 2022. In 2023 the adventure continued and the group set a more challenging goal: to translate and perform an Estonian play in Spanish. The Estonian girls in the group chose and translated Libahunt by August Kitzberg\, a play that\, despite having been written more than a century ago\, deals with themes that are still very much alive today: distrust of what is foreign\, contempt for what is different and attachment to customs and superstitions\, however irrational they may be. \n//// Español //// \nInterpretación\, por primera vez en Español\, de la obra “Mujer Lobo” del escritor estonio August Kitzberg por parte del grupo de teatro SAPERE AUDE el 22 de mayo de 2023 en el teatro Karlova de Tartu (Estonia). \nSAPERE AUDE es un grupo heterogéneo en edades y nacionalidades que incluye a hispanohablantes que aman el teatro y la cultura y estudiantes de español\, ofreciendo un espacio en el que aprender la lengua española de forma más creativa\, lejos de las restricciones del aula. El grupo estrenó su primera obra en mayo de 2022. En el año 2023 la aventura continuó y el grupo estableció un objetivo más retador: traducir e interpretar en español una obra estonia. Las chicas estonias del grupo eligieron y tradujeron Libahunt de August Kitzberg\, una obra que\, a pesar de haber sido escrita hace más de un siglo\, trata temas que todavía siguen muy vigentes: la desconfianza a lo ajeno\, el desprecio a lo diferente y el apego a las costumbres y supersticiones por irracionales que estas sean.

SUMMARY:Science communication: Humour\, Scandal and Conflict
DESCRIPTION:Popular talk\, targeted to the general public\, by the ACEE member Dr. Guillem Castañar Rubio that took place on June 9\, 2022 in the Delta building of the University of Tartu. \nThe title and abstract of the talk read as follows: \nTitle: Humour\, scandal and conflict in Europe’s public sphere: an interdisciplinary analysis. \nAbstract: In contemporary\, information-saturated European societies\, humour often takes the central stage in societal conflicts. While humour and satire are recognised as indispensable elements of freedom of speech\, humorous manifestations are increasingly debated\, condemned and even censored. This project\, funded by the Celsa Alliance\, aims to study the relationship between humour and conflict in the public sphere. It brings together a multidisciplinary and international team from universities in Poland\, Belgium and Estonia to investigate\, firstly\, the modes of expression of humorous communication and\, secondly\, the reactions to such communication in the public sphere. For this purpose\, an analysis of the role of humour in all kinds of public controversies in these four countries will be carried out. Our long-term goal is to create an extensive research network to study the role of humour across Europe. \n//// Español //// \nCharla popular\, dirigida al público en general\, a cargo del miembro de la ACEE Dr. Guillem Castañar Rubio. La charla tuvo lugar el 9 de junio de 2022 en el edificio Delta de la Universidad de Tartu. \nEl título y resumen de esta charla rezan: \nTítulo: Humor\, escándalo y conflicto en la esfera pública europea: un análisis interdisciplinar. \nResumen: En las sociedades europeas contemporáneas\, saturadas de información\, el humor ocupa a menudo un lugar central en los conflictos sociales. Aunque el humor y la sátira se reconocen como elementos indispensables de la libertad de expresión\, las manifestaciones humorísticas son cada vez más debatidas\, condenadas e incluso censuradas. Este proyecto\, financiado por Alianza Celsa\, pretende estudiar la relación entre humor y conflicto en la esfera pública. Reúne a un equipo multidisciplinar e internacional de universidades de Polonia\, Bélgica y Estonia para investigar\, en primer lugar\, los modos de expresión de la comunicación humorística y\, en segundo lugar\, las reacciones a dicha comunicación en la esfera pública. Para ello\, se analizará el papel del humor en todo tipo de controversias públicas en estos cuatro países. Nuestro objetivo a largo plazo es crear una amplia red de investigación para estudiar el papel del humor en toda Europa.
